Professional Development Programs:

Seminars and classes will enhance emotional health and body awareness, which paired together, bring out the best in focus, creative problem solving, patience, innovation, and productivity, as well as a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment in every aspect of life. Offering a higher quality of life to your team or community means that they will have a higher quality of themselves to offer you and the world at large. These programs will grow important skills that will change the face of your services, taking them to a whole new level.

Tools for more effective and enjoyable teamwork (six hours/ 6 hour sessions): In this program your staff learns to better understand themselves, and to thus better work together. They will learn to practice mindfulness meditation and breathing techniques, which reduce the effects of stress, and help them to connect more vividly to their internal experiences. We discuss basic mental-emotional health in a supportive and educational way, which creates a pathway of increased inner peace, and connection with others. Improve teamwork, productivity, personal health and satisfaction with this six week program.

Office Mindfulness: (one 1 hour session): In this program your staff learns to practice mindfulness meditation and breathing techniques, for their own health, focus, and well-being, as well as increased productivity, team-work skills, and satisfaction. This can lead into a regular mindfulness program in the office, in 20-30 minute sessions.

I can also teach 20-30 minute Desk Yoga Sessions, or lead a one-time one hour program offering desk stretches, breathing, and mindfulness.

I can also train a few staff members to be mindfulness ambassadors, to help lead office mindfulness regularly (an additional training program).

Mindfulness for Teachers and care-givers of those with special needs (6 hours/six 1 hour sessions): In this program your staff learns to practice mindfulness meditation and breathing techniques, share these techniques with students/clients in a basic way, and to practice these techniques for their own health, focus, and well-being.

We investigate emotional energy and the inner workings of the highly-sensitive, developing greater understanding of their needs. This program also fosters self-understanding of emotional states and how to direct their own emotional states to the service of their students/clients when most in need. This program develops life and work skills on a deep level.

Mindfulness & Yoga for Teachers and care-givers of those with special needs (24 hours/sixteen 90-min sessions- typically two per week for eight weeks or once weekly for sixteen weeks): Your staff learns to utilize for their own benefit, breathing and mindfulness techniques, including yoga poses, AND how to share these with their students/clients in short or medium-length formatting that is effective, intelligent and safe. These programs are a foundation for this sharing, as the skills are built through practice. Setting up a culture of mindfulness creates a connected atmosphere of mutual respect and very powerfully benefits the well-being of students and staff alike. Study of the energy and experience of emotions will allow staff to remain more patient and focused during outbursts, and better able to diffuse these situations before they get out of hand. Studying thoroughly the dynamics of emotionally and sensory-sensitive experiences will deepen and mature staff understanding of the inner experience of their clients/students, making them a better team. We will study and practice how to better serve others when they are struggling and how to help them find their own solution, identify and advocate for their needs to return to balance.

Mindfulness in the classroom (12 hours/eight 90-min sessions): In this program your teaching and supportive staff will learn how to practice mindfulness meditation and mindful breathing, as well as set up a classroom culture of mindfulness. We will share effective universal language and techniques to utilize this program to its fullest. It takes only a few minutes per class session to practice mindfulness and it is one of the most powerful ways to bring out the best of students mentally-emotionally, as well as academically.

University/Conference & other School Programs-

University & Conference Programs: Keynote speaking, wellness weeks, final-week anti-stress programs, and quality of life increasing offerings. Yoga, mindfulness, stress-less, and focus-increasing programing, offered in lectures, workshops, interactive tabling, short-series of sessions, or on-going programming. Create an early afternoon break and oasis of rejuvenation at your conference, to replenish everyone in the middle of the long days. Offering tools to students and staff to reduce stress, increase confidence, enhance focus, and help individuals to make conscious choices that shape their lives in abundance and fulfillment, instead of survival mode and panic.

MORE Yoga in School Settings: In both typical and special needs classrooms, weekly yoga practice can impart confidence, compassion, social-emotional skills, tools for focus and self-advocacy, and create a deeper sense of classroom community. School-wide mindfulness programs use only a few minutes of time daily to offer, but create a school culture of mindfulness with universal key words and concepts that benefits staff and students alike. Schools that have adopted mindfulness programs steadily have seen detention and drop-out rates decrease and test scores increase. Physical Education, science, and health units based on mindfulness and how it changes the structure of the brain, as well as the science behind the poses can be another creative educational tools with myriad benefits. Before and after-school programs of yoga and mindfulness for staff and students further develop the extraordinary impact of such simple tools on the human experience at any age and stage.

Mindfulness for Medical Settings~

Yoga Therapy for Medical Settings: Mindfulness meditation is the foundation of yoga therapy, especially in a residential care or hospital setting, where mindfulness and yoga  therapy can be used for SEL, trauma recovery, elder care, chronic or long-term pain management, and as part of a healing program.

In more traditional medical settings, mindfulness is applied so that yoga therapy can assist pain management, healing sickinhospital.jpgafter surgery/injury/stroke, or be part of a woman’s labor process in the maternity ward. Staff programming creates a healing oasis to off-set the incredible stresses in the hospital setting. Yoga classes in oncology can enhance quality of life and healing, and be a source of life-enhancing fun for children. In nursing homes and elder care, simple seated stretches, breathing, and mindfulness meditation paired with visualizations can be a breath of fresh air and excitement in a world that has grown gray. In mental health care, yoga therapy and mindfulness programming can teach healthy social-emotional skills, self-love, and validate the inner pain that drives the torment of sensitive people, giving them the confidence to believe in their ability to overcome and find joy and stability in life again.

The free soul is rare, but you know it when you see it-

basically because you feel good, very good,

when you are near or with them.”  ~Charles Bukowski

YOGA WORKSHOPS/CLASSES

custom experiences created upon request.

Feeling & freeing the flow-
Self-consciousness is a form of fear that depreciates us from our primal graceful nature and natural soul expression in movement, as well as how we live and speak. In this workshop/class, we explore that which separates us from our nature- mainly the overall fear to be seen in all our magnificence, and break down some of those ties and lies that bind us. We use discussion, music, asana, and culminate with freeing dance-like self-expressive motion that cannot be done wrong, to open our hearts and fall in love with this body and soul of ours, and this wild and wondrous journey of life.

Falling in love with life by falling in love with yourself-
understanding yourself by discerning the wisdom guidance of the emotions & sensations
We will discuss the importance of our emotions and sensations, and the messages that they carry as inner guidance to balance and harming with one’s own soul. We will look at how we judge and reject ourselves for being unique and begin to cultivate or deepen the self-respect in our autonomy that we aim to show to all living beings. By giving equal love to ourselves as we do to all others, we seem to fix the leak or tear that prevents the flow of our lives from being as harmonious as we seek and deserve.
We will discuss, then have asana practice, then have guided relaxation to further integrate and explore our inner beauty and how amazing life can be when we fall in love with ourselves. To fall in love with ourselves is to more purely and completely love others and the world.
